OK, so maybe Miss Riffraff doesn't look like the average show dog. That's not because she doesn't scrub up a treat, but because we are much more interested in the fact that she's a fun dog who is great to live with. Riffraff turned fourteen in 2020 and is enjoying her retirement away from the hustle and bustle of our farm. We still have some of her granddaughters in our breeding program, though, as well as a few other lagottos we've collected along the way. We added Lagottos to our farmily because we wanted dogs that are not too big, friendly with the whole world, easy to care for and who love life. Our dogs are particularly fond of diving in water troughs, chasing butterflies and ducks, and curling up by the fire or under the computer desk at night. Exactly what we were looking for. We at Duoforza Kennels have been involved with the Lagotto for the past 18 years. Our foundation bitch was provided by the late Dr Margaret Giles, whose guiding hand gave us a successful program. We find the Lagotto to be a most endearing breed. They are intelligent and love their people. Our philosophy here at Duoforza is to breed healthy dogs that meet the standard without compromising temperament. And to carefully maintain the objectives of responsible breeding. Our puppies are well socialised and leave us after 8-12 weeks. All pups are microchipped, vaccinated, wormed and vet checked and are placed on limited register with DogNSW, unless previously agreed.
All our prospective owners will have our ongoing support for the duration of your pets life.
We compete in conformation shows and attend obedience when circumstances permit.
We attend the different 'meet the breed' gatherings during the year and are actively engaged in promoting the breed throughout the community throughout the state.
Over the years our owners have been committed to engaging in educating and achieving qualifications and titles with our pups in disciplines such as Rally O, Obedience, Nose Works, Tracking titles. Many of our pups have also been chosen to be trained for families with special needs members and also for work as Therapy dogs in Psychology and mental health work.

Lagottostar are proud to be Number 1 Lagotto Romagnolo BREEDER of The Year in Australia for 2011, 13,14,15 &17 having produced Champion Lagotto Romagnolo's since 2010. Our progeny have gained Ch show titles, multiple BOB & RUBOB, CC at Royal shows around Australia.

We have dogs who's dedicated owner achievements include: Rally O, Obedience, Tracking titles, Truffle work, Disability dog, Nursing home & Therapy work.

We travelled to Italy's 'Bagnara di Romagna Lagotto Raduno' in 2012, expanding our breed knowledge and have since invested ample time into truffle work education to Australia, including the promotion of Swiss truffle training expert Denise Stalder (2014) to Bredbo NSW. We're passionately involved with expanding "Truffle Sports Australia" education, with Denise's help. For example, Truffle sports (FB page) will be featured at this years Animal Expo, April 2018.
Truffle sports training days are also held at our property. In 2010-2017 we volunteered for the Lagotto club of SA, promoting ample breed curricular activity the past decade. Including showcasing dogs each year Club events (Expo, Carnevale) & our dogs have featured in the DogsNSW Breed feature for 2012) .

We do all current testing - HD,EYE, LSD, & BFJE, HUU, COAT & Volhard test only selectively breed toward betterment every few years or so, with a focus on introducing new lines suitable for disability assistance/ truffle/ working and show abilities when requested by family & friends.

We have kept the Lagotto Romagnolo breed for a number of years & there are many Incavale Lagottos competing in conformation shows & other ANKC dog sports throughout Australia and overseas.
Some of our boys & girls are now registered Therapy Dogs, we have a number being used as truffle dogs, some are being trained as retrievers & there are of course others that are family pets.
Most if not all of our mature show dogs are titled & we have younger dogs well on the way to becoming champions.
We breed to the Breed Standard & our dogs are raised in an environment that assures social confidence and good health.
Our dogs are health tested for all known issues affecting the breed. We keep a number of stud dogs & will only breed dogs that have excellent hip & elbow scores. We also test patellas
We have imported a number of titled working dogs from Europe, have imported semen available & keep both locally bred & imported dogs for stud work.
We sometimes have puppies available to select homes and we are quite happy to have visitors interested in the breed, visit us.
It's important for those who have an interest in learning more about the breed to understand that this breed is a working dog breed and it is essential that you have time to train your Lagotto.

The Parity team is a mother/daughter collaboration, and we are based in South Australia. We enjoy our lovely dogs as members of the family. Our lines are based on dogs we have imported from kennels overseas. We are always grateful for co-operation with other breeders here in Australia too, it's great to work together toward improvement of the breed.

Those dogs that are old enough have been hip and elbow scored with excellent results. Patellas are checked. We use MyDogDNA genetic testing for every dog used in breeding to ensure that our dogs are clear of any known issues within our breed. Temperament is of utmost importance.

The Lagotto Romagnolo is an intelligent working breed and, despite their cuddly look, they can be quite high energy and definitely require training and boundaries. As with any breed, remember to do your research to ensure a good, long-term match.

Wispan is a small but dedicated kennel on the Sunshine Coast of Qld. I strive for excellence in my breeding by using sound stock of excellent temperament and type.

I have been involved with this breed since 2009 and I am very fortunate that my foundation bitch came from Greydove Kennels and my dog from Kebro Kennels, both from imported lines.

All my dogs are hip and elbow scored prior to breeding and litters are carefully planned. My dogs are companions first and foremost and showing is our hobby.

Puppies are raised in our home and socialised with family and friends and adult dogs in preparation for their new families. Our standards are high, with the aim to breed healthy, sound dogs in mind and body while remaining true to type.

Our first girl Sofi was such a joy to live with, we had to have another, so along came Gina and earlier this year we completed our rainbow family, when our striking boy Rommy joined us.

We are a small breeder of Lagotto Romagnolos based in Melbourne. Our aim is to breed healthy Lagottos with a great temperament and a good conformation. In our view the perfect Lagotto should be friendly and energetic with no resource guarding and it should display a great working drive.

We have chosen Panda as our foundation bitch as she has the most wonderful temperament and is very smart and keen to learn.

Whether you are looking for an obedience dog, tracking dog, agility dog, show dog or simply a wonderful pet then we expect our next litter to have what you are looking for.

Around 7-8 weeks of age, all puppies will be temperament tested and we will match puppies to their new families to make sure they fit in the best. At this time we can also access which puppies are likely to do well in the show ring.

I spent quite a few years researching and learning about the Lagotto Romagnolo before I acquired my girl, Pearl. I have young children with allergies so I needed to make sure the Lagotto Romagnolo was going to be right for our family - having the correct temperament for being around young children and also having a coat that wasn't going to affect the allergies in our family.

Pearl (Ch Duoforza Olympia) came to us in 2016 and was raised in our family of 3 young children, a Boxer and a Shih Tzu - she fit in perfectly! I also took the plunge and started showing her, we learnt together and made many mistakes along the way, but it was always fun and we both enjoy it. She got her Champion title in 2018 and we still show whenever time allows.

The Lagotto Romagnolo, also known as the Italian truffle dog, is a rare ancient breed and is considered the foundation breed to many of today's hunting dog breeds. The Lagotto is a non-shedding, active medium-sized breed. They are very loyal to their owner/s, extremely smart, very social, and loving which makes them the perfect family companion.

Our success as a registered breeder has been with the support of our mentor breeder Duoforza and world leaders in canine reproduction Monash Veterinary Clinic headed by Dr Stuart Mason.

Our puppies are raised in a family environment and are well socialised.

Glenstar kennels was established in 1978 with our Labradors, in 2010 our first Lagotto Gucci joined us from Australia, she was soon joined by Orsino and Tiziana. Over the years we have been determined to establish a wider gene pool in New Zealand and therefore have imported dogs from Italy, Finland and Australia. Glenstar is the home of New Zealands top winning Lagotto Romagnolo with numerous Best and Reserve In Show awards.

We strive to breed healthy dogs with fantastic temperaments. All our breeding dogs are screened for Hip and Elbow dysplasia, patella subluxation, DNA tested for Juvinile epilepsy, Lagotto storage disease, PRA/cataracts and HUU. Our dogs have also have annual eye and heart clearances. Health testing within the breed is evolving as DNA testing becomes available. Our puppies are raised in the home and are well socialised and temperament assessed before going to their new homes.

Lagotto bred by Glenstar can be found not only in NZ but internationally in loving family homes as pets, assistance dogs, truffle hunting, agility, scent work and the show ring.

The Lagotto Romagnolo is a small/medium curly coated gun dog originating from Italy. The breed can be traced back several hundred years and is the foundation dog to all water dogs such as Poodles, Portuguese Water Dogs, Golden Retrievers, Labradors, Nova Scotia Duck Tolling retrievers to name but a few.

The breed is not well known in NZ and is often mistaken as a spoodle (gasp).

Our dogs are raised on a beautiful life style block in the Wairarapa.

Living on almost 50 acres in the Macedon Ranges our dogs love exploring the gardens and swimming in the lake! They are very well cared for and loved on many levels, and my partner Ross is a veterinarian. Before 8 weeks, puppies will have had a Vet health check, vaccinations, micro-chipped, wormed and Dogs Vic. Registered. Both parents have good Hip & Elbow scores and are clear for known diseases that affect our breed.

I am a small Lagotto Romagnolo kennel in the Adelaide Hills. I firmly believe in staying up-to-date with the best breeding practices. Extensive health-testing, research, mentoring and ongoing learning are essential to my breeding program.

Lagotto are a breed with diverse potential, and may be suitable for many purposes. In order to provide a solid foundation for puppies and owners in their future endeavours, I am very passionate about raising puppies who are poised to be mentally stable adult dogs. Along with selective breeding, I utilise Puppy Culture and ENS to start puppies on their journey to being confident, resilient and well-rounded adults.

Through fostering and maintaining relationships with experts in the breed, I have been lucky to incorporate dogs with incredible lines from around the world. I aim to continue to strengthen the Australian gene pool for this wonderful breed.

All our breeding dogs are extensively health tested, including but not limited too: Hip/elbow scores, eye scores, patella’s checked and DNA tested.

ATHELAS LAGOTTO - ACT/NSW

Hello, we are the Truffle Patch a small truffle farm in the Canberra Region nestled amongst the wineries of Murrumbateman. In 2009 our family fell in love with Truffles and the Italian Truffle Dogs, Lagotto Romagnolo. Follow our facebook page 'Athelas Lagotto - ACT / NSW' and share our journey.

All our puppies are clear by parentage for genetic disorder and their parent’s hip and elbow scores are within the breed standard.

All our puppies go to their forever homes vet checked and socialised with children and other animals. Our Junior Truffle Hunters will also be exposed to truffle scent and truffle play. All our dogs are proven truffle hunter and we are confident their puppies will be too!

We have carefully chosen our breeding lines to ensure our dogs are a beautiful combination of gentle, social and curious. Our girls are delightful gentle natured and love to be around people and to play and snuggle with kids and adults alike. They are also incredibly intelligent, curious and energetic and loves to hunt for truffles.

We are planning another litter late 2024 and are happy to take enquiries and place people on the waiting list for that litter.

Introducing AMOREFORPAWS

I am incredibly grateful to have spent the last 18 years with Lagotto Romagnolo's by my side. During this time I have obtained 16 years worth of breeding experience first hand, With thanks to my mum who is a well renowned breeder of lagottos since 2006 (LUVALAGOTTO) I am excited to now be able to offer the knowledge and experience of this beautiful breed to others.

As a registered breeder, my aim is to ensure healthy disease free puppies with a beautiful loving nature. Being a certified puppy class instructor/dog trainer, I am not only devoted to the puppies but also the owners who are welcoming one of my puppies into their home, with the knowledge I have gained I am happy to pass on what I have learnt in order to help you raise your new four legged family member.

Aquibella is a Sydney based Kennel run by myself, Athan Lathouras. I am a new breeder but am very lucky to be mentored by the highly regarded Judith Nolan of Incavale.

My experience with Lagotto Romagnolo began in 2017 when I acquired Voltaire from Incavale. He is a well mannered white boy that I took to immediately and nicknamed Aquila because of how majestic he is. We spent many good moments together as a duo but I ultimately made the decision to add a female to our family and in 2020 Urianna was welcomed into our home, her nickname is Mirabella.

She is a smaller chocolate girl with a bit more cheekiness which balanced Aquila's maturity out perfectly.
In between work trips, I fulfilled all the requirements to become a registered breeder and after waiting enough time for Mirabella to grow the two of them finally mated in June of 2023.

I feel very blessed to have a foundation litter of seven beautiful healthy pups and am looking forward to continuing down the path of a breeder and working to produce the best and healthiest pups possible.
