We pride ourselves breeding much loved family pets as well as quality, sound show/breeding dogs with a focus on health, temperaments, longevity and expanding genetics. Please be mindful that adding a leonberger to your family will require patience and long waiting times, often of a few years.
We are hobby breeders based in Sydney. Our dogs are successful in the show ring, where we proudly show our own home bred dogs. First and foremost however our dogs are beloved family pets so our litters are infrequent. We only breed to improve the Leonberger breed and when we want something to keep for ourselves to go on to the next generation with. Our girls are all health tested champions and we have been fortunate to use some lovely stud dogs from the UK, New Zealand, Poland, Finland and Sweden to augment our lines. Wylah Leonbergers is in partnership with Furrychild Leonbergers. If you are in Sydney you are welcome to meet our Leonbergers at shows. Berglowe is a small show and breeding home.
Our main focus is on health and temperament as we believe these are key to for any new family member.
Miss Indie has been socialised with many animals from ponies and goats to cats and birds. Her main love is people, from as young as 3mths old and is always ready for cuddles or a belly scratch. She is first and most importantly a member of our family, and resident couch hog.
In March 2019 Indie became the youngest Leonberger in Australia to gain their AUSTRALIAN GRAND CHAMPIONSHIP title!
A Berglöwe puppy isn't just a dog, they are a family member, and we will only place our babies in the best, preferably indoor, homes.
Our babies are all raised in our home around the family.
We currently have puppies. Please understand, this is a hobby and not a business so please send serious enquires only.
For anyone around Sydney, I offer show mentoring for those thinking of showing their Berglöwe puppy.
All our Leonbergers are health tested (hip and elbow scored, eyes including gonioscopy etc) and temperament checked to ensure only healthy and balanced puppies are born. All of our girls are negative/clear for the four breed specific genetic conditions.

Our lines from Europe start with our girl Matilda (POLISH JNR CHAMPION imp) who was bred by a reputable breeder, Isabella Dopriella. We have specifically designed our future breeding to improve the genetic diversity of this wonderful rare breed and are excited to be part of conserving and improving on the world wide lineage.
Ours Leos live with us in a caring, family environment alongside our children, we have an emphasis of socialising our puppies from a young age introducing them to new interesting experiences. Leonbergers are a wonderful family animal that thrive with human companionship.
