Home of the multi Best In Show winning sable Supreme Ch Deerod Dont You Know Its Magic (Barry) who has had the most spectacular show career. Line bred & a descendant of the world famous Multi BIS & Multi RUBIS Deerod Rich Reward 'ROMA' and Multi BIS & Multi BISS Aust Grand Ch Deerod Give Me The Night 'ROMA'. Barry is joined here with his glamorous 3/4 brother Ch Deerod As If By Magic (Keith), red-gold sable 3/4 sister Ch Deerod Im Levitating and half sister Ch Deerod Thats The Way It Is. All dogs campaigned are winners at the upper lever of competition, a testament to their correct type, sound body and temperament.

All my dogs have been ACES eye tested as having normal eyes and unaffected CEA/CH, adults are rechecked by an ACES ophthalmologist. All current dogs are genetically clear of all DNA conditions tested for except 1 dog being a carrier of CEA/CH, all are genetically clear of MDR1, DM, PRA, VWDIII, GBM etc.


Shelties at Deerod have won Best in Show awards at both Specialist & All Breeds level for over 40 years.


All puppies are CEA/PRA tested and adults DNA tested.

Established 1980, DAYDREAM has been the home of 27 Sheltie conformation Champions including many Best Exhibit in Show All Breeds, Specialty, National and Royal Challenge winners. We have also bred several obedience and agility title holders.

We are the only exhibitors of shetland sheepdogs to win Puppy In Show at Sydney Royal… Gr. Ch. Daydream Darien is also the youngest dog to win RUBIS at a sheltie national. He is also a ROMA which is a honour bestowed on him by the Shetland Sheepdog club for siring at least 10 champions. He sired 20.

We are situated in the south west Sydney on small acreage. Our dogs firstly are our much loved pets and then they are show dogs.

We only keep small numbers and do not breed very often but when we do all puppies are born in the house and well socialised by our grandchildren.

They are sold on limited register which means they are not for breeding or showing but can compete in obedience, agility etc or just be a much loved family companion.

To purchase a puppy from us you need to have a fully fenced yard and the time to put into grooming and socialising a puppy.

Puppies are health checked, wormed ,vaccinated,micrchipped before leaving for their new homes.

They come with all relevant paper work , food , grooming and feeding guide etc.

Our shelties are a part of our family, and we are situated on the Southern Highlands of NSW. Our shelties are campaigned to their best potential and include three Supreme and Grand Champions. Supreme Ch. K. Autumn Aria the top winner with 10 Best in Shows including two Specialty; Supreme Ch. K. Top Deck also a Specialty and All Breeds winner, with his son Supreme Ch. Nima Steffi Graf was a hit at the 2006 Sheltie National being awarded Baby in Show and has attained a Runner Up in Show under a breed specialist. Our Red Poppy is also a Runner up In Show winner and is a Sydney Royal challenge and Puppy in Group winner, who has produced stunning Champion progeny!

Aust/NZ Ch. Kelanmee Decked in Diamonds "Samantha" is currently being campaigned by Ray & Lee Greer in New Zealand and she has made quite an impact on the North Island gaining BIS and RUBIS and a dual Specialty Best in Show award! She has now produced lovely shelties under the Shelton Prefix.

We have had success with frozen semen - Aust Ch. Kelanmee Treasured Timepiece (ai).

While we have prided ourselves in breeding beautiful shelties with excellent breed type and construction for the confirmation ring, we haven't forgotten those who just want to love and behold the Shetland Sheepdog so temperament on the Sheltie is of the utmost importance.

At Hartly I aim to breed shelties that are suitable for all disciplens, including showing, agility, obedience and of course a much loved family member.

My love for the sheltie began when I a young girl. I started showing in 2003 and bred my first litter in 2006 Shelties are truly a wonderful dog that brings so much joy to ones life.
When looking at a sheltie my heart just melted with that sweet face.

My dogs are bred in a loving environment and socialised well as I feel this is very important. My dogs are not only show dogs they are much loved members of my family. In fact I don't think they know their dogs sometimes!!

I have shown many shelties to their Champion, Grand Champion and Supreme Champion titles along the way winning the ultimate Best in Show, specialties and all breeds. Hartly have bred 29 champions.
11 times Hartly Sheltie’s have won Best In Specialty Show and of that 3 times also winning Runner up to Best in Show.

The photo above is one of the proudest moments as a parent for me.

On the 3rd October 2009 I was lucky enough to see my children handle dogs they love to win Best in Group and Runner up in Group at the same show. Nicole went onto win BEST IN SHOW with a sheltie that I bred "Lyndream To Be A Magician" Toby. Toby is sired by Nicole's main stud dog Ch Louanda Simply Magic from the lovely Nigma Elle.
Thomas is also nearing Logan's (Ch Ellagant Rhapsody In Blue) Grand Champion title

We often show together yet retain our own kennel prefix. It is still a family affair and we hope that there is another wonderful day just like this around the corner.

Currently I only breed Shelties but hope to have a Aussie litter next year some time.

I have been showing dogs for over 35 years. I previously handled for the Almaroy Kennel (for over 20 years ) and during that time bred using the Almaroy prefix.
In 2005 I bred my first bi black (black & white) under the Almaroy prefix) that I had great success within the ring although shown sparingly with Jack winning at a high level under many specialist breed judges.
Since then I have blended lines to strive to keep breeding well constructed, sound dogs of good breed type. All my dogs are from English bloodlines.
I had quite a long break from showing my shelties due to health reasons but have recently been able to start showing them again since surgery and am continuing on with enjoying some lovely wins with my current team.

We are a small breeders that treat all it dogs as family.

Starting my breeding in Chihuahuas over 40 years ago and now only have my heart breed in Shetland Sheepdogs.
This breed give you so much, they become part of the family and a breed that always knows there own kind.
We started with a Sable bitch Shelbronze Atomic Fire (Shea) now dec, her first born Charm dec has Given us a lot of joy and Her son Gentleman has Swaggr daughter Meme will continue to keep us involved in Sables.
We have always wanted Tris and over the last few years with the help of some qualtiy dogs have been able to stamp our own mark with Tris.
We are now working on our blue lines which will be a joy to see.
All 3 colours have their own unique personality and love to see them interact.
In 2018 we were the only Breeder to breed and exhibit all 3 colours the National held in Perth WA.
We have now live in the RIVERINA area NSW.

Revesby-grown Shelties since 1989! Puppies rarely available as I am now very involved with NSW Sheltie Club Rescue, but when they are, I breed for soundness, movement, temperament & colour from Peerielee lines, raised in a loving home environment, DNA & eye tested, plus cat-friendly :)
My Shelties are beloved pets as well as performance dogs... my Shelties engage in obedience, agility, herding, K9 NoseWork (scent seeking) and of course, showing.
