Lucas, a natural bob tail (NTB)came to live with us aged 10 months. Since then he has won 6 Best Exhibit in Specialty Show, a dozen other all-breeds and Specialty Best in Show awards, plus many Best in Group awards and is Victoria's only Grand Champion Tenterfield Terrier. Lucas is also currently the only Tenterfield Terrier in Victoria to hold an Earthdog title NE, proving he has the ability to perform the job for which he was bred.

Lucas is a popular stud dog in Victoria, having sired some 15 litters. Among these 10 Champions from 9 different bitches already have attained the title of Australian Champion in 4 States, and one Flyball Champion.

'Rangeaire' comes into Tenterfield Terriers with considerable experience, having bred some 80 Champion Airedale Terriers in direct line. So, the decision to 'downsize' to Tenterfields was not taken lightly! With the addition of two bitches, we aim to selectively breed to establish correct breed type and balance within this breed. This includes consolidating an esthetically pleasing tail length, making full use of the natural bob tail gene that naturally occurs in this fascinating, recently recognized Australian breed.

We are always ready to advise and assist with respect those newcomers to Tenterfields and/or showing and breeding dogs.

We breed 'small dogs with big hearts'
We are a small kennel that is passionate about breeding for the future of the Tenterfield in health, conformation and temperament.
We are not always active in the show ring, preferring to concentrate on enjoying our dogs on our property, with friends or promoting the breed on the road as we travel in our caravan to other States in Australia. We take our girls with us and they are very popular wherever we go.
We have three generations at home but will focus our breeding schedule on our two youngest girls - all being well!
We have produced 6 Australian Champions to date with puppies going to homes in Victoria and other states.
Our extended 'Tentella' family keep in touch and send photos of our babies so we can see them grow up and become the personalities and companions that make them so special in their lives.
My husband and I were involved with the Tenterfield Terrier Club of Victoria myself as President and Tony as Treasurer / secretary where we we proudly held these positions for 4 years. We resigned last year 2014 after 9 years on committee feeling it was time to let the reins go. I am still a member of the Victorian Club but now hold the role of President 2024. Also been a member of Dogs Victoria for over 18 years.
It is our joint goal now and into the future to continue to promote and support the breed in all ways.

We are a retired couple and have enjoyed our hobby of showing our kids (dogs )in Victoria mostly around Melbourne. We have titled 5 dogs in 6 years, showing against good company. 'Sassy' Au Ch Charbon Super Sassy White Black and Tan Tri girl

Skalawag Tenterfield Terriers are constantly striving for breed perfection. Skalawag progeny have had impressive successes in the show ring and even more impressive successes as much loved family pets for all ages.

I breed quality rather than quantity yet sometimes have puppies for sale that are suitable for pets or showing. I delight in seeing a puppy I have sold do well in the show ring and am just a happy to be sent wonderful photos of a happy pet puppy and happy owners.

Bloodlines have been carefully chosen to give a wide spread of genes within the breed to avoid potential health problems cropping up in the future. I believe in responsible breeding and my dogs and bitches are clear of PLL and CHG by genetic testing or by parentage from tested animals. They have also been chosen for their good mouths and happy temperaments.

With the freedom to run and hunt across paddocks, my Tenties are all much loved house dogs. Puppies are also raised in the house. First and foremost my Tenterfields Terriers are much loved and loving pets and secondly, show and breeding dogs.

Ardchattan is only a small, but very select kennel, breeding for quality rather than quantity. In breeding to the standard, conformation, movement, attitude and temperament is paramount. All ArdchattanTenterfields are PLL & CHG clear.

I have had a long association with the breed. My parents having bred Mini Foxies for over 20 years whilst I was growing up and I have invariably had one since.

In the past, over the years, I have had a significant interest in the genetics of breeding, Stud Cattle, Arabian Horses,Rottweilers and now Tenterfields. It was only natural then that in retirement I would again be drawn to breeding dogs again. In the last few years I have spent considerable time on the road, visiting breeders, researching the breed and the various bloodlines. To my minds eye, I have been attracted to and have incorporated the bloodlines of Skalawag, Nudimah, Gumhaven and Tenerello. My current litter of pups, which incorporate these lines, have vindicated those choices.

I take this interest very seriously and derive a great deal of pleasure from it. In limited showing Ardchattan has had success in Best in Group, Class in Group, Best of Breed and Challenge wins.

Skalawag Oh So Debonair (Chip) is tragically no longer with us.

Our new sire Renaylbysh Hes A Winner (Finn) is proving to be a worthwhile replacement. His progeny have been well sought after.

Allurastar is a small boutique kennel established in 2013. We breed for temperament , intelligence & conformation with a particular emphasis on structure & type. Our kennels are free of PLL & CHG & all our dogs are Dna tested for hereditary conditions . All stud dogs are carefully chosen according to temperament & type. We have championed 6 Tenterfields to date, 5 were Championed in four years before taking a break from show ring. Our girls are vet checked for certificate of health before mating . All puppies are hand raised in our home & are taught basic commands like come & sit by the time they leave for their forever home. Puppies are taught to recognize the sound of the clicker & receive abundant educational stimuli & challenges as part of their development . Socialisation forms a big part of the puppy program & at the appropriate time pups are introduced to a wide range of outdoor stimuli , noises sensations, places, including people & children from the safety of their puppy pram . This creates healthy confident pups that sets Allurastar pups apart & lays the sure foundation for their futures , be it as companion dogs , support dogs for NDIS patient , the show ring , or obedience or well adjusted pets. The early learning program Allurastar puppies receive stands them in good stead for their futures in their forever homes.
