Welsh Springer Spaniel Old Dogs for Sale

We bought our first Welsh, Alfie (Bwgan Llwyd ar Nantlle), in 2006 in the UK. He was shortly followed by Ryan (Ch Coedybrain Ryan ar Nantlle) in 2008. Nantlle Kennels was then established. Both boys were shown at Crufts, gaining places in the breed, with Ryan a winner in the Gamekeepers classes – we worked him on a pheasant shoot each winter. We moved Alfie and Ryan to New Zealand in 2016, and Ryan’s daughter Sammy (Ch Llon Llaeth Y Gaseg ar Nantlle) joined us in 2017. We lost Alfie, then Ryan (old age) so we were joined by Kristy (Ch Bryndoain Uptown Girl) from the Bryndoain Kennels. Ryan, Sammy and Kristy have all been shown and made up to Champions. From our first litter we kept Gwenno, the offspring of Bear (Kylowen Drym, Ryan’s grandson) and Kristy. We health test all our dogs when used for breeding.

At Frecklewyn we believe that welsh springers are not just beautiful - they are also excellent dog sport competitors and all-round wonderful companions. Our foundation bitch, Ch Mycroft My Bridie ,is currently competing successfully in Obedience and Rally, and has enjoyed introductory training in Tracking and Retrieving. Bridie is also outstanding at demanding pats and cuddling on the lounge! We believe that any breeding program should seek to produce dogs of excellent temperament, conformation and health. We are particularly concerned with reducing the risk of inheritable diseases, and thus ensure all relevant health tests have been done prior to breeding.

Dana Kennels was established in 1974 with our first Welshie joining us in the early 80s. Our three boys took her everywhere with them on the farm and she was their constant companion, she was also shown and achieved her Championship Certificate. Over our long history with this lovely breed we have bred and shown Nationals Winners as well as agility dogs, working gun dogs, and of course many loyal family companions. Our first imported Stud dog came from the Slyvkin Kennels in Australia when we were lucky enough to see the litter and select our lovely boy Rhett 'NZ Ch Slyvkin Gwillym' over the years we have had three lovely boys from this Kennels and we are grateful to Sylvia and Bill for the privilege. We were among the first kennels of any breed in New Zealand to test our breeding stock for any problems of a hereditary nature and have continued to do so. We sometimes have puppies available to approved homes.

We are a small kennel based in Melbourne where our dogs are part of our family. Our family consist of two adults, two children and three fur babies. We have been involved in the Welshie breed since 2013, but Rebecca has been around dogs all of her life. The dog breeds Rebecca has owner are Dobermans, Rough coated collies, Fox Terriers, Jack Russell terriers. Here at Ausspring Kennels we love nothing more than to spend time with our fur babies weather that be Showing, Tracking, obedience training, bush walking or at the beach swimming. Our Welshies are first and foremost our loving and loyal companions in life. We aim to breed Welsh Springer Spaniels with beauty, intelligence and soundness of body and temperament. All of our dogs are health tested.
