Grand Neut Ch Aust Ch Lerilla Class In Clover
My very first time in the show ring was at 3 months and 8 days and I won the Best Baby Puppy in Group with Mumma who had never been in the ring before either. We work well together and she is very proud of me whether I win or not because I always do my best :)
I developed a severe neurological disorder at 4 months of age. After extensive testing in Australia there was no evidence for my condition, but I like to look on the bright sight of life...woohoo I skipped from Kindy to Uni! Kindly the Narcolepsy Research Centre at Stanford University in the United States analyzed my CSF and blood to confirm my diagnosis is Type 1 Narcolepsy (with Cataplexy).
My narcolepsy is triggered by major emotions like excitement and even though I loved the show ring, unfortunately Mumma made me retire. She thought it was in my best interest because the excitement of the shows and all the other little people could induce an episode, but all it did was take my fun away :(
I didn't show for nearly a year, my 2nd birthday Mumma gave me a surprise present and we showed for the first time in Neuter class. Boy had I missed those treats!! So we were back in the ring again and after 3 weeks I won every Best Neuter in Group, 2 x Reserve Best Neuter in Show and my very first Best Nueter In Show!! I was already an Australian Champion but those wins got me enough points to be a Neuter Champion as well! The best part of all is we are having FUN again!
Unfortunately I cannot have a family of my own, my condition is extremely rare and little is known so we aren't going to take any chances with breeding! Also Mumma said I have been through enough with testing that I deserve an easy life.
My medication helps and now we have discovered a couple of training techniques that help. Now I even have my own custom made cupboard to hide my food and personal treadmill for working out to keep me lean )(
Aside from sleeping standing up occasionally, I really do have the best life any pug could ask for!! Everyone knows I am Mumma's girl! My favourite pastimes are wanting food, going out in the car, wanting food, socializing, wanting food, pug "help" around the house and wanting food. But my favourites are staring at strangers, looking at myself in the mirror and...did I mention wanting food?!
Baron and Scout have joined the Damasca family and I will still be in the ring as often as them. When I do retire my upcoming job at the shows is supposed to be team manager, I wanted to be called something like the CEO or even Queen of Damasca but Mumma said that I was being a little extravagant! i think she is coming around because she has called me the Queen of Damasca a couple of times.
