Mackie is from the second litter sired by my foundation stud Ren, out of the lovely Verity.
He approaches the show ring with a reasonable sense of maturity and a dash of hilarity. He thoroughly enjoys the buzz of the environment, the social aspect and tries hard to be the best show dog he can be.
Mackie’s main sport is herding. He has huge talent and his approach to herding is like everything else in life, full on! Handling him on course can at times be a bit like driving a Ferrari on slicks in the wet, but his maturity is starting to shine through (finally) and his biddable nature is helping us get some very cool passes.
In 2025 year Mackie gained two titles - Intermediate A Course Sheep and Novice B Course Ducks.
At the 2026 Dogs Victoria State Herding Trial in June, Mackie got the final pass for his Intermediate A Course Duck title.
Mackie is the only Collie, Smooth or Rough, to hold these titles in Australia.
He is now training and competing at Advanced level on A course for both stock types, and Intermediate level for B course ducks.
