Writing about Aramis is no easy task. It is almost impossible to capture the essence of this dog in words. He is, to the rest of the show world just an exhibit they see being constantly bragged about online however, to the rest of his family, Aramis is a one of a kind dog that’s presence is memorable both inside and outside of the conformation ring. Behind his show career Aramis brings immense joy to his beautiful owners Vic & Sheila Timson. In addition, his Mark being made here in WA is bringing so much pride to the efforts of his breeders, Colin & Gail Arkell (Itsozi) who have been exponentially supportive of everyone involved in Aramis’ show team. Beyond showing, Aramis consistently achieves in Lure-Coursing, and to watch him lure is truly breath-taking. A true credit to his breed, construction and condition.

Aramis is true to the Saluki nature, all dignity until you catch him at home being a right goof. His temperament displaying noble arrogance, (hence his nick-name, “the Red Brat”) he really lives up to his historical heritage bringing it all to the ring every time. An easy job for his handler, just steping back and letting him effortlessly prove himself.

Having the combination of qualities he poses has given Aramis such a special career as a show dog. Slow to start admittedly, but maturity has blossomed this young dog in the specimen he is today. With multiple, Best in Group (Specialty), Best in Group 1st awards, some converting into All-Breeds Best in Shows & R/Up Best in Show This is certainly no mean-feat here in WA, especially for a Saluki. His most memorable wins are under some renowned hound specialists including, John Lewington (Greycroft Irish Wolfhounds) and Stephen Wailes (Lamaan Salukis). Other memorable wins like his first All-Breeds Best in Show, converting to a back-to-back best in show win. Definitely not something anyone a part of his show team expected, but we all couldn’t be prouder or more excited that his quality has shone through and has been recognised to such levels. Aramis has not only brought quality to his breed, he has taken a team of people and created a family. No matter what his results, we always have that family and that family will always have Aramis.
