Issuma is a Shuyo (Aust Ch Polstars Lichf Ashuya) and Bandit (BIS Aust Ch Shuyak Akima Aluk) daughter and possesses the good angulation and powerful movement of her parents. She moves with the easy, effortless gait that should typify the Alaskan Malamute. Like her father, Issuma carried herself with pride in the show ring, but was also incredibly nosey. When running around the ring she was always looking to see if there was anything interesting happening outside the ring. Many a time she ran Moyra into the ropes. Because she 'zoomed' around the ring we nick-named her 'Zoom Zoom', so we were really rapt when Mazda launched their advertising campaign with 'zoom zoom' as their catch phrase. Because of this coincidence, she was written up in Mazda's magazine for Mazda owners.
Gaining her first challenge (17 points) at 8 months, Issuma went on to gain her title, however, by then we had decided to change our breeding direction, so we never used her for breeding.
Sadly, Issuma crossed the Rainbow Bridge in January 2008 after contracting pnuemonia. She is missed terribly, especially by her pal Sima.
