NZ & Aust CH Wongan Quest o Maketawa
I have to say that Ross and I think that Quest was one of the best put together dogs we have ever seen. He had great angles, was extremely sound with excellent height to length ratio and fabulous gait.
There was a lot of him for his size and people either loved or hated him- despite this he had quite a fan club.
Sheryl Roach and Vin McPhee piloted him to his australian title and he rewarded them by siring to their homebred bitch Ch Fontine, CH Kinsheran Rich Pickings, a beautiful dog who was one of the top winning Victorian springers of the last ten years.
As with many of our male dogs Quest was not used over our bitches, being too closely related to our girls, but his legacy lives on at Kinsheran.
After his stay at Kinsheran, Quest came back to New Zealand and spent the rest of his life living with our friends Mary Glascow and Campbell Priest. He had the run of the farm and when he was not out helping train the horses or chase rabbits, he was resting on the sofa from his exertions.
He had great personality and was loved by many people.
He lived to a ripe old age.
His best wins were BIS Taranaki Gundog show and Vin and Sheryl piloted him to a runner-up of Group in Melbourne.
