At the CSCV Champ Show in April 2010, Tom Graham (UK) critiqued Ambrose as follows "compact boy with good head, lovely substance and ribbing, moved true"
In April 2011, Ann O'Keefe described him as follows "Strong black boy with lots to like, quality head, sweet expression, correct bone and feet, good spring of rib & deep body, short loin, good quarters, correct coat in good condition"
Pat Whitehead at the 2014 Melbourne National said re Ambrose; "Masculine head, tight eye, nice length of neck, big ribs, good angulation, super bone and feet, not over done in any way, happy on the move"
Ambrose took a few years off, but came back at 8 years of age and gained the title of Australian Champion with some nice wins under gundog judges.
Ambrose is proven at stud and has passed on his deep short body, strong bone, and well padded tight feet to his pups.
Ambrose is hip scored with results below the breed average and has been DNA tested FN CLEAR and PRA carrier by Genetic Technologies Ltd, and AON clear by OFA.
