Lulu is a walking miracle. She was diagnosed in Jan 2006 with cancer (mast cell tumours) and throughout that year, had approximately 5 removed from various parts of her body. Her prognosis was not good and I feared I would lose my 7yr old Weimaraner prematurely. With a radical change of diet, cancer supplements from the U.S and lots of love and care, my girl has been in remission now for 4 years and remains alpha dog in the house of 3 dogs. My aim in life was to enable her to celebrate her 10th birthday, and she did so in November 2008. Every day now is a bonus. She has a chronic bronchial condition which over the course of 5 yrs, has progressively worsened. For the better part of the past 2 yrs, she has been on antibiotics to avoid pneumonia (which she has had twice) every day. She continues to sleep under the doona every night and is the most gentle loving dog with my child. Although she did not enjoy the show ring, she gained her Australian Champion title and retired shortly afterwards. She introduced me to showing and is now big sister to "Coco" my 4yr old GSP and great aunty to Coco's daughter Lola. Lulu turns 13 on 5th November 2011 and with failing hind quarters and chronic bronchitis, she still manages to get out of bed each morning and is the first in the kitchen for breakfast and first at the door for a walk. She has far exceeded my dream of getting her to old age with her will to live. Although it will be extremely difficult when she does pass away, I will know I did everything in my power to enable this remarkable dog to make old bones. *** Sadly my dear Lulu died of old age at 15 yrs and 4 months on 4th March 2014. She certainly made old bones and was brave to the end. ***
