RIP our beautiful boy!
Guinness was an excellent & true representation of the Labrador breed. He was a true gentlemen of the breed. He had a fantastic temperament that is not often seen these days, a strong retrieving instinct & a natural love for water. We are eternally thankful to Glenice and Mike for sending us the 'little black puppy'!!!
Guinness’ show career was successful right from baby puppy. We had such fun showing him.
He achieved his Aust. Championship within 9 days of turning 1 under the old system where you needed 25 points after 12 months of age.
Most pleasing for us is that Guinness excelled at specialty shows winning
numerous “Classes In Show” & “Best Opposites In Show” over many years. The critiques below from world renowned breeders say it all!
Mrs M Hopkinson (Rocheby - UK)
"Very nice in profile - flows through from head to tail. Good typical
head, nice set on neck, ample bone & good tight feet, second thigh well
developed & used his rear to cover the ground easily."
Mrs M Brown (Ramsyville - UK)
"Liked this black for type & construction, nothing overdone here, beautiful head
& expression, well put together, excellent overall balance. A quality dog!"
Mrs S Wiles (Richbourne - UK)
"Classy black of excellent breed type. Alert head & kind expression.
Excels in neckline. Good topline, neat feet. Moved & shown to perfection."
Guinness sired many puppies, some of which also excelled the show ring. He was the sire of a number of champions (including a chocolate Grand champion) and an Australian Tracking Champion. He can be found in many pedigrees today of current top winning and producing dogs. However what we cherish the most is all the comments from puppy owners and breeders who all would comment how lovely his progeny were.
