A rare breed - the Flat Coated Retriever is renowned for their superb easy going temperments, strong will to retrieve, vigilant watchdog qualities and non-stop wagging tail. The original 'Gamekeepers' companion dog, the F-C-R is a highly amiable and verstaile working Gundog. In the field they are steady to shot, an elegant and purposeful moving dog able to work in virtually any cover. Their strength and soundness lies in their construction and physical characteristics both of which combine to produce a dog specifically suited to Field and feather. When on the move the F-C-R presents a picture of elegance and grace, its shining coat glistening in the sunlight. The temperament is confident and kindly, generously endowed with Gundog ability, optimism and friendliness demonstrated by enthusiastic tail action. F-C-R's are not for everyone for they are an active and enthusiastic compainion best suited to those with an outdoor lifestyle !!
