Hi, I’m Fleur Robbins-Koomen and I’m incredibly proud to come from a family with such a long history in pedigree dogs. Dogs have always been part of my life, so being involved in showing, handling, and learning about different breeds feels like second nature to me. Growing up in this world has given me opportunities and experiences I’ll always be grateful for, and it’s something I never take for granted.

My mum is Natalie Robbins from TOBANA BOXERS and PICCINO ITALIAN GREYHOUNDS, so from a young age I’ve been surrounded by the dedication, discipline, and care that goes into breeding and presenting quality dogs. Through her, I’ve learned that success doesn’t just happen in the ring, it comes from preparation, consistency, and always putting the dogs first.

My grandparents are Wally Robbins and Robyn Robbins. My Pop was a professional handler of some of the great Boxer imports to Australia in the 1960s and 1970s, before later serving as a judge and steward. My Nan is known for handling the world famous CH Tobana August Queen and for her huge contribution to running all breeds and specialty clubs over many decades. Their passion, knowledge, and commitment have had a big influence on me.

Our family story reaches back even further. My great grandfather bred Greyhounds, and my great aunt and uncle, Wyn Wilcox and Kevin Wilcox, showed German Shepherd Dogs. I’m also proud to acknowledge Kevin Walshaw, regarded as the grandfather of Gundogs and Field Trialling in Australia and an ANKC Hall of Fame inductee. It’s inspiring to know my family has contributed across so many areas of the sport.

Right now, I’m especially enjoying my journey with Boots. She is such a special dog to handle, and together we’ve shared some amazing moments in the ring. Every weekend brings new lessons, new goals, and new memories, and I love the challenge of always trying to improve and present her at her best.

For me, junior handling and showing are about so much more than ribbons. It’s about respect for the dogs, continuing to learn, representing my family well, and making the most of every opportunity. I’m proud of the legacy behind me, but I’m also excited to create my own path and see where this journey can take me.

Please come and say hello at the next show! Xx
