We are a select kennel that have been successfully breeding top quality show winning bassets hounds for the past 40 years and are home to Am & Aust Ch Topsfield Sanchu King of Queens (IMP USA),
Am Grand and Aust Ch Topsfield Sanchu Cannoli in co ownership with Longbay bassets and were home to Aust Grand & Am Ch Vahhala's Dreamchaser (IMP USA) now deceased.

"Beauchasseur" aim to breed quality bassets that conform to the breed standard and are sound in body and mind.
We have home bred Champions in Australia, America, Japan and New Zealand.

Our puppies are country reared in a family environment and are well socialised with children and other animals.

All pups leaving us go with an Advance starter puppy pack are wormed vaccinated microchipped and vet health checked. We also have a desexing contract with our companion pups.

We sometimes have show quality and/or companion pups available and welcome all genuine enquiries.

We are happy to board back our pups so you can relax and enjoy your holiday knowing your basset is safe and being cared for and loved.

I am a Long-standing dedicated Basset Hound breeder, having successfully exhibited my Bassets at not only Breed Specialty shows, but also All Breed Shows. My first Basset came into my life in late 1969, and for the past 50 plus years, Basset Hounds have continued to be much loved family companions.

I am a Life Member of the Basset Hound Club of Victoria Inc, Member of Basset Hound Club of NSW, and a member of Dogs Victoria (affiliated Dogs Australia/ANKC). I am an experienced ANKC licenced judge for Hounds (group 4); Gundogs (Group 3); Working Dog (Group 5) and Non-sporting (Group 7), and regularly judge these breeds, not only in Australia, but also New Zealand, and the USA. I have also judged Basset Hounds at Breed Speciality Championship Shows not only within Australia, but also New Zealand, the UK as well as the USA.

Thoughtfully bred, and lovingly raised puppies from health tested parents, are occasionally available to good homes only.

Our newborns have a thorough Vet health check post birth and again at 6 weeks of age when, at this Vet visit, they have their microchip inserted along with their C4 Mandatory Vaccination.

Our Pup's worm protection is also commenced from 2 weeks of age.

We are appreciative of those based interstate and intrastate who have chosen to be “Owned or Re-owned by a Basset” and have selected one of our youngsters to help them along this path.

Hunterspark was also associated for many years with Foxhounds and imported the first show Foxhounds into New Zealand in 1988, one of these hounds went on to be the only Grand Champion Foxhound, GR CHc Mingus Hound Hastings imp Aus

We are located on a small acreage in the Wide Bay Region of Queensland.
Where our Bassets enjoy our home life and their kennels. Since 2008 we have enjoyed a number of successes in the Show ring, Breeding our dogs that have won Best in Groups and Shows and culminating in Best of Breed/Group Winner at the Brisbane Royal "EKKA" with my Girl Lowset Our Queen Victoria.
Our focus is Breeding Bassets for type, conformation, bone and a wonderful temperament. Importantly our Breeding program only includes those that have been ANKC eye tested and approved. Going some way to future proofing the Basset from health issues.

Our puppies are born in our home (our bedroom) and are socialised with other animals including our cats and are gradually introduced to the whelping bay by the time they are six weeks old and from there to the grown up kennels. They go through all the required pre-approvals before they go to there forever home and are micro-chipped, vaccinated, wormed, Dogs Queensland Registered, DNA tested, Vet Checked and provided with a personalised Lowset Puppy and Advance Puppy Pack.
I encourage all purchasers to contact me should they be unable to care for their Basset so that I might be able to re-home where ever possible
We are not frequent breeders and breed mainly for ourselves to have a dog/bitch to Show in the ring as this has become a favourite past time. A welcome social occassion for our four legged family and ourselves

Established in 1971, we have bred many Australian Champions. Some of our greatest acheivements include winning Champion of Champions with Aust Ch Ammidan Star Time ("Star") and Best in Show at the Brisbane Royal National Agricutural (RNA) show, the "EKKA", in 1992 with Grand Champion Ammidan Casino Royale ("Sassy"). Recently, we won Best in Group for the Hound Group at the Brisbane Royal with Supreme Ch Ammidan Abrahamm ("Abrahamm").

We take great pride in breeding sound dogs, and as a result of this have had major wins in most Australian states, with our Kennel name appearing on many winning dogs throughout this country and overseas, which is something we are very proud of.

Our pedigrees are of the highest standard and quality, with blood lines including dogs imported from the United States of America, England, and Ireland, and many of our animals living overseas.

Cayugaridge has been breeding basset hounds for the past five years after competing in the hound ring for over 15 years with standard wire dachshunds and breeding American cocker spaniels for over 20 years in the USA. Our lines are based on imported American and European dogs and existing Australian lines through Beauchasseur basset hounds. We have several champion bitches and dogs standing at stud to approved bitches only. All our dogs are DNA tested clear for basset panel including POAG, autoimmune syndrome and thrombocytopaenia. We pride ourselves on great basset temperments, type and correct movement. Importing leading European lines in 2022 to enhance our breeding program.

Involved with breeding and exhibiting Bassets for over twenty-five years. We only ever breed selectively to improve the quality of the Basset Hound, focusing on temperament, and conformation to the standard. This has proven very successful for our kennel, producing over 20 Australian Champions and 2 Australian Grand Champions, as well as owning/ campaigning the First ever Basset Hound Grand Champion in Australia.
That dog, Aust Gd Ch Jimetta Loxley was one half of the start of our line breeding program which now is almost complete.
We have recently imported a Brother and Sister from Bassbarr Bassets in the UK (the bloodline which our Bassets started from) and they will soon be used to complete this last step in our breeding program.
Supreme Chammpion, Aust Sup Ch Dowjac Tchaikovskys Tempo, will be shown at Specialty shows and Royals, and will be available for stud to approved bitches.
