Basset Hound, Mid North Coast Region NSW

Dowjac Bassets started over 40 years ago and has consistently produced multiple champions from every litter born in that time. After a slow period from 2017-2025 due to extended work commitments and the passing of Jim DOWell), our breeding program is back up and we have a number of exciting pairings planned over the next few years. We have selectively line bred, with carefully chosen outcrosses (including overseas imports) over the last 25 years to ensure we have an amazing “database” of semen and a number of beautiful bitches waiting to mature. Now based in Macksville NSW, our dogs can be seen at most dog shows north of Sydney , especially on the mid north coast. Litters planned around mid 2027 and regularly from there on. All our dogs are tested and clear of all known genetic issues relating to Basset Hounds. Stud dogs/ semen available to selected bitches after pedigree examination and relevant DNA / health tests.
