We are excited to share that we are expecting a blenheim litter in May. Puppies (limited registration — not for breeding or showing) will be ready to go to their forever homes around July. Both parents are healthy blenheim Cavaliers with beautiful, gentle temperaments. They are health-tested in line with breed requirements, including heart, eyes and DNA. The sire has also been MRI tested for SM. Both parents have been successful show dogs. Our puppies are raised in our home with adult dogs and children. Glengariff Cavalier King Charles Spaniels are synonymous with quality, type and soundness. I purchased my first Cavalier, Millie Mandy a mismarked black 'n tan from a pet shop in Paraparaumu in the mid 1970's and decided she needed a companion. We found a blenheim male for sale and the breeders said "why don't you come along to a show" - that was us hooked, Millie Mandy has a lot to answer for. In 1980 we acquired an English dog Ch Amantra Kings Rhapsody and then having researched the type we loved approached Molly Coaker of the famous West of England Homerbrent Cavaliers and were lucky to purchase Homerbrent Cardinham, the biggest winning Cavalier ever in NZ who was the first NZ Grand Champion. Homerbrent Junesta then joined us and was the mum of the second Grand Champion Glengariff Carnaby. More Homerbrents joined us over the following years and are behind our Cavaliers today. We have recently imported Irish semen, from our friend Michael Hegarty and are lucky to have secured semen from an International Champion Riverdale of an Excellent Choice (Holland) who has sired our two current youngsters making their presence felt. We are proud of the contribution our dogs have, and continue to make to the breed and that other breeders also have success in the competition ring and breed on with them. As well as breeding cavaliers that adhere to the breed standard, charm your heart and eye, we are committed to the ongoing health of our Cavaliers.

Traehsong (pronounced “Treesong”) Kennels is the story of a long time love affair with Cavaliers dating back to 1996 when we acquired our first much adored family pet, and this wonderful breed has been making my heart sing ever since. I have been training and trialling my Cavaliers in various dog sports since 2013, and it is an absolute joy to showcase how capable the breed is across a number of very different activities. Obedience. Rally. Tracking. Track and Search. Agility. Dances With Dogs. Tricks. Endurance. They can be so much more than “just” lapdogs (although they certainly excel at that, too!). My team of trialling dogs consistently perform at a high standard, winning many first, second, and third placings and Highest in Trial awards against all breeds in the dog sports competition rings. We have earned multiple champion and grand champion titles in both dog sports and in the conformation show ring (in the neuter class), and are the proud home of the first Dogs Australia Multi Champion and Dual Grand Champion Cavaliers. Traehsong’s aim is to produce happy, healthy, sound Cavaliers. All breeding dogs carry health clearances from specialist veterinarians (heart and eyes) and are DNA tested for common breed issues, with our puppies lovingly raised in the home on our beautiful hobby farm on the outskirts of Ballarat. Lilahpark is named after my first Cavalier Delilah, she had my heart from day one and totally shattered my heart when she passed away. Although l am fairly new to breeding Cavaliers, l am no stranger to dog breeding as my mother bred and showed Shetland Sheep dogs and Keeshonds during my younger years. I fell in love with this beautiful breed many years before l eventually bought my first Cavalier from a Breeder friend. I am not sure if l will join the show world yet but the Breed Standard if very important to me as is DNA Genetic Health testing. My male Cavluvlodge Raven is Orivet tested with fully clear DNA, he also has the much sort after AG gene which may help to prevent early onset heart issues. My female Bindyk Sweet Sasha is an EF carrier only. I have added her 2yo full sister to my home, Bindyk Special Treat is a Black and Tan femalewith fully clear DNA. At the moment my stud is small with just one Ruby Stud and two female's and one desexed male from Sasha's first singleton puppy litter, we got a little attached to him and could not part with him. puppies will be DNA clear and could carry the prized AG gene. Raven and Izzy have successfully mated and their puppies will be due late May 2026. They will be advertised once they are microchipped at 6 weeks old. Expressions of interest are invited.

At Ecocav, I breed to produce pups with 3 key criteria: First, I breed to improve the DNA tested health of our dogs. I usually DNA test every one of my puppies. I also select for health issues that are not DNA testable, where they become identified in my breeding stock. Second, I breed for temperament, so that the puppies will be family friendly pets, and that they should learn to get along with all other companion animals. Thirdly, I breed for showring type and conformation. The Cavaliers I breed are selected for good conformation and to be true-to-type. While I can't make every single puppy grow to the correct size, I only retain breeding dogs that best conform to the breed standard.
