Labrador Silver Coat Colour Warning - The National Labrador Retriever Breed Council (Australia) has issued a position statement for the Silver (or Platinum / Charcoal) Coat Colour. The Labrador only has 3 recognised colours - (Black, Yellow and Liver/Chocolate).

Our main interest is in producing happy, healthy, sound and typical Labrador Retrievers with exceptional temperaments. We breed, exhibit and compete with the dogs we love that are raised in the family environment.
Our aim is to build a distinctive line of Labrador Retrievers we can be proud to take anywhere, do anything with and relish in the beauty and love at the other end of the lead. Our labradors are hip/elbow X-Rayed, eye checked for abnormalities and all are Clear Normal DNA Optigen tested.
Mistybrook Labradors are New Zealand Kennel Club Registered Accredited Breeders.
Mistybrook Labradors sometimes have older puppies or young adults available.
Mistybrook Labradors are winning BIS specialties and a multitude of All Breed in Shows and Gundog Groups.
'Dana' Kennels established in 1974 started off with one working gundog and has grown from there in the early days we had a 7 acre lake on our farm ideal for Labradors. Over the years we have used imported bloodlines and shown our dogs to Championship level and beyond as well as maintaining the inherent working ability. We have had our dogs in the Kiwi recovery program, used by the Blind foundation, drug detection and working Gundogs as well as the loyal family companion to many families some of whom have had 3 of our Labradors over the years. We were fortunate that in the early years of showing and breeding to have help and advice from one of the greats of the Labrador World in Nell and Tom Jobey of Te Reinga Kennels. We were one of the first Kennels to do the hip and elbow testing in NZ and have carried on to do all the tests we can to continue to breed sound happy Labrador puppies that confirm to the standard of broad and strong. We are a small kennel situated approximately 1.5 hour's drive North of Auckland,on a 57 acre lifestyle block in Te Arai.
My aim is to breed quality yellow [with a special interest in the FOX RED shade], black , and occasionally chocolate labrador puppies that are true to type, genetically sound and impeccably natured. All breeding stock are hip and elbow x rayed and have annual eye checks. They are all also DNA tested for EIC and PRA., HNPK, MCD, CNM, Dilute gene and Long Coat Gene.
Although I do exhibit my dogs in the showring, my favorite times are spent on daily off lead walks over the farm and at local beaches, watching their natural antics.

Fishersgate Labradors brought their foundation bitches from the UK in 2003 when they moved to Hawkes Bay (Now based in Christchurch). We aim to breed labradors with sound temperaments, true to type conformation and loyal, loving natures. Our labradors are primarily pets who share our lives but our puppies are now living in the UK, Australia and across New Zealand. Fishersgate Labradors are versatile, multi-purpose dogs with lots to offer.
We (David, Anne and son Andrew) have been involved with Labradors since the early 80's - shooting over them, showing and occasionally breeding. We are a small kennel who have imported several from England and Australia, one from Sweden and semen from both England and Australia, all in the interests of breeding the best we can. We breed to the highest ethical standards and only from parents who have acceptable results from the health tests required by Dogs NZ. Those health tests include hip and elbow xrays and scores, eye test results (annual specialist exam, DNA testing), and DNA testing for the Dilute gene and Exercise Induced Collapse (EIC), among others. We breed primarily for us to have something for the show ring, although some do not make the grade! Despite our focus on showing most of our pups are sold as pets to approved homes.
We have some yellow and some black bitches (no dogs available for stud at present) and typically produce pups in those colours too. We do not usually breed chocolates.
We very occasionally have older dogs available for re-homing to approved homes.

JANCERIE LABRADORS are very typically English Labradors, & bred to meet the original British breed standard. I was very fortunate to be able to purchase my foundation breeding dogs from the top UK kennels (including the world renowned Sandylands & Rocheby), and I strive to continue the very high standards that they have attained.
As the health & welfare of my dogs & the puppies I produce is of paramount importance, all of my breeding dogs have extensive health tests, including Hip & Elbow X-Rays, DNA screening & annual eye examinations.
My dogs are very much a part of my family. They live a carefree life, have a happy disposition and 100% reliable temperament.
My breeding girls are given ample time to rest after having a litter of puppies & will not be bred before 2 years of age or after 7. When they retire from breeding, my senior ladies have a permanent retirement home here at Jancerie & continue to be much loved pets.

We aim to breed top quality labradors with excellent temprament and ability in the outdoors. With a young family our dogs are well socialised with children, and spend a lot of time outdoors with us duck shooting, deer stalking etc.
Registered with DogsNZ our bitches have excellent hip and elbow tests and current eye certificate. We only use stud dogs who have achieved results of a very high standard.

Glenstar Kennels was established in 1978 and continues to breed Quality Black,Yellow and Chocolate Labradors for temperament and soundness.
All dogs in our breeding program have been fully tested for hip and elbow dysplasia, DNA tested for PRA, Exercise induced Collapse and the dilute gene. Our dogs also have annual eye certificates and heart clearances.
Glenstar Labradors are found in loving homes as companions, important members of a family, gundogs and or acting as service dogs for the disabled and detector dogs.

I am proud to have taken over the Sykesville Kennel name after the passing of my grandfather, who established this kennel name in the late 1970 early 80s. My grandfathers passion was producing labradors with a strong retrieve drive and the ability to work all day, as well as being loyal family pets. My Grandfather bred a FTCH which was a big achievement for him. I hope to carry on his legacy and will continue to breed true to type Labrador Retrievers.
My aim is to create the ultimate dual purpose Labrador, one that is out retrieving during the day and laying by the fire with the kids at night. The ultimate goal for us is to provide families with a Labrador that is sound in body and mind. Health and temperament is forefront of our breeding decisions. Our dogs are given the best lives possible, we live on a sheep & beef farm in north Taranaki. Our dogs live a active lifestyle and are used to retrieve game birds and possums.
