We are financial members of DogsNSW, our member number is 2100020428 and we welcome any questions you may have about Maremma Sheepdogs in general or our dogs in particular. We have had Maremma’s since 1999 and have spent much of that time learning all I can about the breed. The dogs of Casa Di Cani have sheep and horses to look after as well as the humans and I strive towards well mannered and well bred working dogs who are sound in mind and body. To this end my dogs attend shows and community events as well as the odd bit of modeling for some local photographas. The latest event they attended was the Italian Festival at Ettalong Beach Resort. I as yet have only bred 7 litters. My breeding dogs have or will have hips and elbows scored, eye tests and Thyriod normal. I am committed to only breeding the healthiest dogs possible so no matter where you look for a puppy always ask to see the Hip/Elbow score sheet and be aware that ALL the numbers should be as close to 0 as possible. I am always happy to chat about my dogs or your dog. Visitors are always welcome to meet the dogs. Proudly was the home of Aust Ch Amarcord Birichino and Aust Ch Abruzzo (imp Itl). Lurgenglare Maremmas have been registered with Dogs Victoria since 1986 when our first Maremma Sheepdog successfully protected our Angora goats and sheep from foxes. Bianca's first litter was registered in 1988.
We have been promoting Maremmas in the Show Ring & at Agricultural Shows and have been improving the Australian Maremma Sheepdog population by importing six Maremmas from Italy, Sweden and England to provide a good foundation of unrelated bloodlines for breeding sound, well tempered & true to type Maremma Sheepdogs for livestock guarding, family companions and show.
Our customers continue to value their Maremmas to protect their families and various livestock species: chickens, ducks, geese, ostriches, sheep, goats, deer, cattle, alpacas and the latest challenges, the Eastern Barred Bandicoots at the Victorian Zoos and the Little Penguins on Middle Island south of Warrnambool in Victoria.
Our Maremmas are working dogs that protect all of our livestock ranging from the tiniest chickens to cattle. They are diligent workers who take their jobs very seriously. At the same time they are loving towards us and are always over-joyed to see us. Working ability and conformation is our aim.
