We have breeding and exhibiting Bulldogs for over 20 years.
With a couple of young daughters wanting to show, and LOVING the brachycephaic breeds, we got the children 2 Pugs to show.

We have been very fortunate to have obtained Pugs from established and health focused breeders in the Lower North Island area.

We have always had a little pug or 2 as pets since we began with dogs in 2010. They are such a fun and enjoyable breed. We introduced our 1st pedigree, a black bitch imported from New Zealand in late 2018, and then introduced a fawn boy Oslo in 2019. He has since retired. In 2022, Ruby, a fawn daughter of Oslo, joined our family who is adored by our daughters.

Our puggies are all inside and part of our family, as all pugs should be, and each have their own place on the couch watching tv with us.

All puppies are raised inside, under foot and well socialised and started potty training prior to leaving for new homes.

Karakia has selected pugs that are not just true to type, exhibiting all the pug characteristics we know and love. But are also of excellent temperament. And most importantly healthy dogs. Karakia genetically tests all breeding dogs. Currently all breeding stock are clear of genetic diseases that can be tested for.

First and foremost, my pugs are my pets. A dog that is easy to have around the house with an excellent temperament is of utmost importance to me.

RUSSIANBEAR pugs is a small breeder specialising in quality black pugs. We have imported a number of dogs from Russia to begin our program focusing on breed standards of conformation, health, temperament and exceptional quality of black colour. Our imported dogs are already with Champion, Grand and International Champion titles from highly sought after Champion bloodlines in all generations of their pedigrees. We also show many of our dogs and puppies on occasion.

All of our dogs and puppies are kept and raised in our family home and no expense is spared in their care. We do have on occasion puppies available to approved pet homes and we expect the same care from our puppy buyers. Our puppies are sold desexed and with 2nd vaccination and vet health certificate. We conduct various health testing on all dogs used in our breeding program.
