Breeding dogs are DNA tested for the known issues of PRA, Glaucoma and FEH ( tooth enamel). Pups are raised in the home and handled everyday. They are exposed to larger breeds and the family cat. So they adjust very well when they leave having this extra experience and have good confidence.
