Our passion for Portuguese Dogs started in 2009 when we got our first Portuguese Water Dog, Grace. Grace showed us how incredible this breed is! Everyone who met Grace fell in love with her. She visited hospitals as a therapy dog and she was an Assistance Dog for Wendy. Grace travelled the world with us and even got to spend a day at The Louvre and see the Mona Lisa. She also competed with us in agility, flyball, rally, dancing with dogs and heel work to music. Grace learnt >200 tricks and loved nothing more than showing off her tricks to an audience.
Grace’s registered name was Bluegrace Seacalling and our kennel name Seacalling is a tribute to G.
In 2020, we imported a very special Portuguese Water Dog, Ocean (aka Oshi), from the USA. She is our foundation bitch and she has proved to us yet again why we LOVE this breed so much! She is incredibly intelligent, loyal, loving, athletic and driven to work. So far we have competed in conformation, agility and rally and she is training to be an Assistance Dog. We never dreamed another dog could come close to Grace but Oshi has our hearts.
We have imported frozen semen from a top stud dog in the USA (MBISS GChS Marshview Whale Of A Good Time RN MX MXJ XF DCAT RATS CGCA WWD GROM) and we hope to have our first litter in 2023.
Our goal is to breed for temperament, structure, health and working ability. Our puppies will be given a lot of enrichment and they should make fabulous performance dogs and pets for active owners.
