Some info on the dam, Sage is almost 4, a beautiful looking bitch with beautiful temperament as described & everyone that meets her loves her. I have spoken to many breeders in choosing a sire and chose Cato because he also is a beautiful looking boy also with beautiful temperament and is a good genetic match for Sage. Cato has a very good pedigree is also about 4 years old owned and bred by Julie Rebbeck of Redshift Dobermans based in Canberra. He is 3/4 European 1/4 American. Moving away from traditional American and Australian show and working lines creates great diversity promoting good longevity. A brief description of Cato from his owner " He is half working lines, has an excellent temperament, very affectionate, velcro and good with other dogs. He is a balanced dog with the ability to work as well as cuddle on the couch with his people, primarily a family dog but also very capable of IGP. I like his confidence, drive, smarts and that he is very levelheaded, he is not soft, loves obedience work but is not a hard dog either. Both Sage and Cato have been DNA profiled and matched to give the best chance of breeding healthy long living pups with great temperaments. I have done a family tree of Sage and Cato (available to view ) and found that both have Dobes in their ancestry that have lived long healthy lives many into double figures. Of 33 dogs in their ancestry that I could track down 16 of those lived past 10 with 7 others still alive approaching 10.
