Tirowen was established in 1972. We have spent over fifty years enjoying the companionship of our beautiful hounds, focusing on breeding the very best to the very best. Over the years we have imported six dogs as well as frozen semen from the best lines available throughout the world including the UK, the US and Europe. Tirowen hounds are bred for good temperament, health, longevity and quality. Over the last 50 years our hounds have won 35 Specialty Best In Shows - largely under overseas breed experts - the most recent in in Sydney, April 2019 under breeder/judge Mr S. LeVan of the USA and also the 2019 Victorian Specialty . Breeding carefully and only occasionally, we are currently into our 15th generation of Tirowen Irish Wolfhounds. Both Francis and Anne are international judges of the breed.
