We have owned and loved Rhodesian Ridgebacks since 1984. Starting with our first rescue Ridgeback on our honeymoon. We quickly followed on with our first show female and have show and occasionally bred since then. We are not a large scale breeder. Temperament is just as important as all other traits in a ridgeback so getting the right breeding pair is essential.
Our breeding pair have been hip and elbow scored, DNA tested and are both Australian champions from two of the most successful breeders in Australia.
The temperament of our ridgeback is amazing and hopefully in the near future we can pass that onto their offspring.

We started out as a family with enormous passion to learn and develop our lines to be the best we possibly could. We breed only the highest quality Rhodesian Ridgeback pups for not only temperament but breed characteristics. With small children ourselves we select only the best natured breeding pairs thats will produce pups that are not highly strung but great all round family dogs that we would have no issues recommending them to our freinds and family. New to breeding but not the breed we are situated in the beautiful Lake Maquarie region, where my boy Ch Magombe New B Ginninz(Darcy) and our affectionate, outgoing girl Magombe Goddess of Wisdom (Hazel) are first and foremost our beloved family members.
Darcy has been shown locally and obtained his title at 15 mths of age. Hazel has been shown intermittently and has achieved many awards including Junior in Group and Intermediate in Group, as well as praise from Breed Specialist judges.

Marvelridge is a small, family based Rhodesian Ridgeback breeder located in the Redlands area of South East Queensland established in 2021. We raise our puppies in our home for the first four weeks before introducing them to the outside world. By about 5 weeks old, our puppies are living outside full time on grass with daily adventures back into the house to learn all about doggy doors and kitchen smells.

Marvelridge aims to breed quality dogs who have temperaments suited to the family home. Our Ridgebacks are pets first and come on all adventures with us including camping, four wheel driving and days at the beach.

All dogs that we breed with have been health tested via full DNA profiles as well as X-rayed to establish risk of Hip and Elbow dysplasia.

We are proud to own Champion Starridge Nulli Secondus aka Groot who is the infamous ridgeback of Groot's Diary on Instagram and Facebook. We are privileged to own Valeighunter Devil Wears Prada (Gamora) who has been an amazing mum of two litters.

Mzilakazi have been breeding show champions and family companions since 1985, focused on breeding dogs sound in both body and mind. All our breeding stock are x-rayed for hips and elbows, and also now DNA tested for DM (Degenerative Myelopathy) and JME (Juvenile Myoclonic Epilepsy), as well as heart-tested.

Lesley's love of Ridgebacks began during her teen years growing up in Rhodesia (now Zimbabwe), and Graeme came on board a few years later, taking to this wonderful breed like a duck to water :-).

Pups are raised in a home environment and are well socialised. They are screened at birth for Dermoid Sinus, which continues until they leave us, and are vaccinated, microchipped and routinely wormed prior to going to their new homes.

Mzilakazi are proud to have bred and owned Best in Show and Runner Up Best in Show (ALL Breeds) winners as well as Best in Specialty Show/Runner Up in Specialty Show winners, but our dogs are foremost our beloved companions.

We purchased our first Rhodesian Ridgeback 'Jera' in 1992 and quickly fell in love with her and this very loyal breed in general. Jera was our foundation bitch and had her first litter in 1995. That was the start of a long journey under the 'Sahwira' prefix. We have always bred for good temperament and conformation. We have bred, loved and owned many champions. Our dogs have always been well socialised and obedience trained and have been a big part of family life and loved by all. I am a small scale breeder and exhibitor of Rhodesian Ridgebacks. My dogs live a life of luxury as companions in my home. They are fed premium food, have daily bush hikes or runs at the beach and accompany me on regular outings (e.g. nursing home, coming to work, brunch at cafes etc). I love the breed and want to share the joy I get from my dogs, by breeding to produce quality puppies of a high standard for companion and/or show prospects. I always aim to improve and preserve the integrity of this amazing breed with every litter I thoughtfully produce.

Any dog used in my breeding program has full comprehensive health testing performed (CHEDS hip and elbow scoring +/- PennHip if indicated, cardiac auscultation and echocardiogram (+/- Holter Monitor if indicated) by cardiologist, and full Orivet DNA profile (including screening for JME, DM, EOAD). Breeding stock must be of excellent temperament and be suited as family companions first and foremost, with show ring success being a bonus.

Puppies are raised with care inside my home using the puppy culture protocols. They go to new homes vaccinated, sterilised (tubal ligation/ vasectomy), with a comprehensive information book, food and blanket. The well-being of every puppy I produce is important to me, and I am available to assist and advise on any issues for the lifetime of my puppies.

Our long affinity with, and extensive research of, Rhodesian Ridgebacks led to our foundation girl in 2011. Koko was the beginning of a wonderful journey and our pack of 4 now live with us on our bush acreage in the Perth Hills.

Phakama Ridgebacks are a select small kennel and breed infrequently, to maintain and improve our lines only, and all puppies are raw fed and raised with a puppy culture program. Puppies live in the house and have monitored free range of our property as they grow. They are taught to "speak dog" by the rest of the pack and flourish easily. All puppies go to approved homes only.

Health testing is a priority and all our dogs are AVA hip/elbow scored, heart screened by a cardiologist, and have a full Orivet DNA Breed Profile completed. We believe sound temperaments are essential!

Every dog we have bred and kept has participated in Conformation Showing and we are proud to have bred 2 Australian Champions. Not all dogs like the show ring, so we also participate in Lure Coursing and two of our pack gained their JC titles in this discipline. All have completed a Masters in Owning their Human ;)

We are members of the Rhodesian Ridgeback Club of WA and Dogs West. We are proud to have the friendship, and mentorship, of some amazing breeders, around Australia and the globe, as we continue the journey of preserving our beloved breed.

At Zenridge we strive to breed Ridgebacks of sound temperament and health.

Following a decade of owning Rhodesian Ridgebacks and falling in love with the breed, we have taken the next step with our newest Ridgeback Nala, attending conformation shows and receiving her Champion Title in late 2023. We were in awe seeing how our beautiful Nala and her exceptional temperament developed as she grew, hence our journey to conformation showing and breeding. We are in the process of establishing our kennel with our first litter being anticipated later this year. All puppies will be raised in our home environment around other pets, and will be regularly exposed to babies, toddlers and older children. When puppies leave for their new homes they will come vaccinated, wormed, microchipped and with a puppy pack containing items you need to ensure the best transition into your home.

Our Ridgebacks are x-rayed and scored for Hip & Elbow Dysplasia, and are DNA tested for Degenerative Myelopathy (Clear) & JME (Clear).
