Bert was named after Bert Newton of television fame. Our Bert's Dam, Ch Nawlene Zarerina, was used in all the promotional material for the Wizard of Oz Stage production in which Bert Newton played the Wizard. Jitter Bugger carries some of the famous old Redletter lines that, unfortunately, are disappearing from Australian pedigrees. Bert has one of the hardest coats that I have bred in a Cairn for many years. The Redletters are very slow maturers and, as most novice breeders want instant winners, these bloodlines are slowly dying out.

Bill Cammish (Camcairn) from the UK awarded Bert 1st place in a class of six. His critique is: "Good head, very well balanced, good layback of shoulder, good topline and tailset. Best mover in the Class."

Bert's Best in Group at the Toowoomba Royal 2004 (from a terrier entry of 200 under a South African judge),together with his BEST IN SHOW and 2 RUNNER UP IN SHOWS at All breeds level ensures that Bert is among the elite of Cairn Terriers in Australia.
