Capebass has been established for many years, but we have owned Newfoundlands since 1975.Capebass strives to breed quality, sound Newfoundlands.
To improve our lines we have imported semen and dogs from overseas countries such as Hungry, USA and England. We are committed to breeding quality Newfoundlands, by using such lines as to assist our own.
Out of the litters I've bred I've produced a best in show winner who also won the group at Adelaide Royal, I have also owned a bitch that won best opposite sex at our Newfoundland Championship show, twice. Her daughter went on to win a best in show at our breed open show, Bitch challenge at Melbourne royal and now her pups have gone on to win in group and in show awards all three of which were titled at a young age.

We are home to 1 Home bred Grand Champion Jack- GR CH, Capebass Wish upon Astar
and we have successfully successfully shown our Polish import Cezar - GR CH Cezar Cancrimo to his Grand champion title

We are also proud to be the breeders of the first International champion (FCI) in Australia.

At "Ebbenglade" we breed only occasionally , specialising in quality black & brown newfoundlands exhibiting the hallmark beauty, gentleness & intelligence of the newfoundland. Newfoundlands have been a big part of our lives since the early 1980's with many Show Winners,Champions and Obedience Title holders owned by us or carrying the Ebbenglade prefix. Ebbenglade Newfoundlands is situated two hours west of Melbourne Victoria, where each litter is loving raised within the home with the family. On our property, our newfies share their kingdom with our alpaca herd, finnsheep and peacocks. Our dogs enjoy obedience work, showing and above all being "couch potatoes".

We are relatively new to the Newfoundland world, but have done immense research to breed the very best we can. For this reason, we have imported frozen semen from overseas to be used with our foundation bitch, Elsa - (CH Yesallaw Around The World with Paddlepaws) (AI).

Elsa carries some fantastic lines from Australia and is sired by frozen semen from Austria. She introduced us to the show world, and has done exceptionally well, gaining her Title at under 12 months of age. Winning Multi Class in Group, a Puppy in Show and a Runner Up in Group from the puppy class at a major Victorian show

After only being eligible for 6 months of the year, Elsa came second in the Dogz Online point score for 2018 in Victoria. It was a very proud moment for all.

We are hoping to contribute to the breeds genepool by introducing some new lines, focusing on type, temperament and soundness. All of our breeding dogs will have DNA testing, health checks and hip/elbow scores.

Jeddore is the new venture of two long time Newfoundland owners and breeders. Megan from Paddlepaws Newfoundlands with over 30 years experience in the breed has joined forces with Bev from Seadale Newfoundlands who also has over 30 years experience in the breed. Together we have formed Jeddore. We will be breeding rarely, selecting the very best we can for our lines. We are incorporating the very best local dogs and also in the process of importing frozen semen for future use.
Our foundation female has passed her health testing, with her DNA completed and Hip Score 1:1, elbow score 0:0. We welcomed the first Jeddore litter in September 2021.

Clazzic is a small kennel located in the south eastern suburbs of Victoria, after over a decade of learning and being mentored by Capebass kennels we have decided to start also breeding these beautiful dogs.

Our foundation for our kennel comes from the first International Champion Newfoundland in the country, Marvin (Int. Ch. Aust. Ch. Capebass Moccona Classic ROM) while Marvin is enjoying retirement we enjoying watch his daughter Sophie (Ch. Newfashion A Little it Tipsy at Clazzic) grow and hope to breed her in the future.

We were also lucky enough to lease Dior (Ch. Capebass Sign of the Times) for our first litter at the end of 2022 and we are looking forward to her daughters hitting the ring in 2023.
Tilly (Ch. Clazzic There Goes Gravity) has thrived in her home co-owned by Michelle Ramsdale we are lucky enough to have fantastic members of the team and we look forward to her continued success in the future.

Emily can usually be found at any local conformation dog and will always be happy to talk and answer any question.

Shadoze Newfoundlands is located in the beautiful Yarra Valley, Victoria. We fell in love with the breed when first encountering ‘Lurch’ in the mid-1990s, then successfully entered the world of dog showing under the guidance of Capebass Newfoundlands in 2022. As we learnt more about this loyal and affectionate breed, we knew we wanted to contribute to improving the Newfoundland in Australia. Our breeding philosophy prioritises temperament, health and type, with dog well-being always at the forefront. Our foundation bitch, Aust CH Capebass Love in the Shadows, is an integral and active member of our family. She is frequently found lounging on the couch or exploring the Yarra Valley.

Carefully considered breeding will mean that puppies will be limited.
