I was introduced to the world of dog showing when I was 9 years old by my mother who had Rottweiler’s.
At my introduction to showing I was lent a Rawuch Shetland Sheepdog by the name of Trooper to campaign, from there it was confirmed that this was the breed was for me.
In 2001 I purchased my first Sheltie Flash from Tooneybank Kennels and later on in that year I was given my first Lurikeen bitch. During my time showing the Lurikeen shelties I was given Dakota, “Supreme Ch Lurikeen Turn Up Th Heat” and Mason, “Supreme Ch Lurikeen Cort Be N Norti” who I have been very successful with not only in my home state of WA but Australia wide.
Dakota held the title of “The Greatest Winning Shetland Sheepdog of all time in Western Australia” and also “The Highest Awarded Best In Show Winning (allbreeds)Shetland Sheepdog in Western Australia's Breed History”
With Mason being “ Western Australia’s Youngest Supreme Champion Shetland Sheepdog”
After years of promoting the Lurikeen prefix I was given co-ownership of the prefix at age 18 and later down the track the prefix was signed over solely into my name. I now share the prefix with my mother Julie Harris. Together we have bred multiple Australian Champions, an international champion along with Multiple Best Exhibit in Show Winners.
Throughout my time in the dog world I have been given opportunities travel to handle in the USA achieving the ultimate title of Best Exhibit in show and handling our home bred boy in Singapore where he was awarded Best Exhibit in Group.
I feel that as a young exhibitor, it is a must to give back to the sport that gave you so much time as a child, therefore I have had many positions on committee’s with the Shetland Sheepdog Club of WA, Canine Stewards Association of WA and the National Junior Handler committee.
Currently I hold positions on the DogsWest Junior Handler Working Party and Fremantle Dog Club.
I am a licensed Working Dog and Toy Judge at Championship level, along with being a trainee judge for the Utility group.
