Licensed ANKC Group(s)OP - Open Show Status CH - Championship Show Status JH - Junior Handler
Carol’s introduction to the dog world was in 1988 when together with her husband, they purchased their first Australian Cattle Dog. Success in the ring quickly followed. Some 100+ Champions and many Best in Shows later, she is proud to say that the name TAGETARL is acknowledged worldwide for top quality ACDs. Carol is also known as a breeder of BIS winning Stumpy Tails, Silky Terriers and Australian Terriers, both at all-breeds and specialty level. Tagetarl bred the first Supreme Ch Stumpy Tail Cattle Dog and also the first Red ACD to become a Supreme Ch. Carol’s philosophy is to breed the complete dog. One that excels in conformation, breed type, soundness of temperament and correct breed movement.
Carol has been involved heavily with dog administration having served in executive positions on many all-breeds and obedience clubs and as a long-time councillor on the North Australian Canine Association (Dogs NT). Carol sees this as a positive way to contribute her time and expertise to assist fellow dog people.
Carol is also a member of the ANKC Canine Health and Welfare Committee. A role she sees as imperative to insuring the ability for all dog members to continue in the sport we love. This role is essential given the recent increase in lobby groups campaigning to shut down pedigree dog breeding/exhibiting.
Carol has written many articles published in both National and International magazines, journals and organisation websites. The majority of these writings relate to the judging and breeding of our Australian breeds.
As her occupation, Carol is employed as s Secondary Science teacher. She also has university training in genetics. Carol approaches all judging appointments as not only a responsibility but also, and most importantly, as an enjoyable pursuit.
To date Carol has judged in most states within Australia including all-breeds and many specialty appointments. Judging for her is a fantastic opportunity to meet new people with similar interests and commitments.
