Judge Profile

Ulla is a FCI judge and former Director and as at April 2023 she is the immediate past President of the Canine Control Council (Qld) Ltd, (Dogs Queensland). She played a key role in its incorporation in 2012. Ulla has also been a director of the national body, the Australian National Kennel Council Ltd, (Dogs Australia) for many years and has been on its executive from 2021 to March, 2023.
Ulla was instrumental in establishing the Whippet Club of Queensland in 2008 and was its founding President. She has been passionate about marketing our dog world and its many activities to the wider Australian community. She has enjoyed announcing at the Royal National Association (Qld) dog show for approximately 10 years and also at the New Zealand National. For many years Ulla was the Secretary of the Ladies Kennel Association of Qld and the Qld Kennel Council and routinely sponsored the provision of accommodation for judges at those all breeds shows.
Ulla and her husband Andrew have bred and shown Piaffe whippets for more than 25 years and she has judged Whippet Specialties both in Australia and New Zealand. Ulla had an early background with Afghan Hounds and is a specialist in that breed too. A special milestone was judging the Italian Afghan Hound National at Lake Garda in 2017.
Ulla has judged extensively in every State in Australia and in New Zealand and also in Sweden, Spain, Italy, South Africa, Japan, China and the USA.
