Judge Profile

Hi, l have been in dogs all my life, born into Golden Retrievers and l am 4th generation. I obtained my gundog licence 30 years ago and became a All Breeds Judge 6 years ago. My kennel Santamaria is world renowned, originated in 1962, it is Australia's longest running kennel. We have bred over 100 Australian Champions, 6 Supreme Champions, 8 Grand Champions and Track and Search Triple Champions Our aim at Santamaria is to breed only with the best example of the breed, and to give the general public their dream dog, one which will be with them for many many years. We do not breed from any dog which do not display the true characteristics of the breed and can win in the show ring or working dog ring and be recognised for their outstanding attributes. Not all dogs should be bred from , and this is important to understand why we have high expectations when breeding. As a All Breeds Judge, l worked very hard for many years to obtain this, with no outside help other than my passion to do the best l can I have judged all over Australia, New Zealand, India, Philippines, South Africa and hope to do many more judging around the world. I am also a Junior Handler Judge, l judged the state final a few years ago in Queensland, and have judged many classes, l have also a daughter who is an accomplished handler and Junior Handler judge as well. My husband is now a trainee gundog judge and shows all the dogs with me. I am a lucky woman having my family heavily involved with the dogs and kennels.
